FRIENDS OF THE MUSTANGS

A portion of all registration proceeds will go to support Friends of the Mustangs in their efforts protecting and preserving wild horses throughout the Grand Valley.

In 2019 Roll Massif donated $500 to the organization to assist in obtaining their mission of promoting the welfare and awareness of mustangs and to contribute to the Bureau of Land Management in the maintenance and protection of the horses. The grant from the inaugural bicycle ride was used to purchase grass seed for an aerial drop to re-seed the range.

Friends of the Mustangs (FOM) is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization established in 1982 in Grand Junction, Colorado. They work alongside the BLM to keep water holes and tanks flowing and clean, mountain trails clear and marked, help with gathers and adoptions, and even provide birth control to mares. FOM has received several awards from the BLM for their volunteer support of the horses and five of their members were recently nominated for the volunteer of the year award.
